SCOTCH 23

3M Scotch 23 Tape is a highly conformable 0.76mm thick, high voltage jointing and an EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) based self-amalgamating tape. 

Scotch 23 Tape can be used as an insulation for low voltage applications as well as insulation for cable joints up to 69kV.

The tape is non-vulcanizing, shelf-stable tape with excellent electrical properties that are unaffected by the degree of stretch and form part of the 3M Scotch Electrical Tapes.

Specification – 3M Scotch 23 Self Amalgamating Tape

Scotch 23 tape, manufactured by 3M Electrical, is based on ethylene-propylene rubber and be capable of operation at the emergency cable temperature of 130°C (266°F). The 3M scotch tape must be capable of being applied in either the stretched or un-stretched condition without any resulting loss in either physical or electrical properties.

The Scotch tape must not split, crack, slip, or flag when exposed to various environments (indoor and outdoor). The tape must be compatible with all synthetic cable insulations. The tape must have a dissipation factor of less than 5% at 130°C (266°F) and must have a shelf life of 5 years.
